The Luxury of a Life on State Benefits……

25 Nov

A Day in the Life……

I awoke this morning and started my day with a cup of Kopi Luwak coffee, a bargain at £500.00 per kilo.  I then cracked open some luxury Marks & Spencer’s croissants.  Having popped round to the local shops to pick up half a dozen Sunday papers and a lovely joint of Kobe Beef at a very reasonable £150.00 per kilo and a bottle of Henri Jayer Richebourg Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits.  That’s Sunday sorted for a mere £23,000.00.

Now, put the Range Rover through the carwash, top up the tank and have a family day out at the races and perhaps have a flutter with the spare cash left in my wallet……

That’s the Impression Government Ministers are Giving……

Day after day they appear on the television describing the ‘choice’ that people are making to have a comfortable life on benefits.  They are also insinuating that the 6 million disabled people living in this country are malingerers who have chosen to not to work.  I would challenge any jumped up Etonian minister to spend one day in the life of some of these malingerers, many of whom have some very serious illnesses.

The reality is that the majority of the 5 or 6 million people who do not work are either too ill or cannot find work.  The basic payment they receive is around £70 per week and they will have their rent paid.  £280 per month is a pittance when you consider that most people’s fuel bills are nearly half of that.  Add water rates at approximately £30 per month and you are left with around £25 per week for food, transport, insurance, a TV license and you’re very quickly into negative numbers.

I’m Sick of Politician’s Rhetoric……

The very idea that living on benefits is a ‘lifestyle choice’ is unrealistic and offensive.  Then to suggest that we need to cut the welfare budget, at a time when it is bound to be getting higher due to the economic mess that the politicians got us into in the first place, is an insult to Mr Beverage.  The amounts of money they are talking about saving pales into insignificance when compared with the tax that is not being collected from the big multi-national corporations that our politicians seem so very cosy with.  We can bail out banks and sort out welfare budgets but we don’t seem to be able to stop multi-nationals shipping huge amounts of cash to the Cayman Islands; funny that……

‘Here’s a challenge.  Come and get me.  Almost to the man/woman our politicians are crooks, tax dodgers, corrupt, war criminals and liars.  Most fiddle their expenses and get paid back handers and ‘gifts’ from their mates in big business.  And, why do we have to pay interest to the tune of £35 billion on the money printed by the ‘Bank of England’ in the guise of QE, when all they have done is type £35,000,000,000.00 into a computer.  How can we be charged interest on our own money by the only institution with the authority to print it.  It used to be called organised crime.’

‘They all want dragging out into the streets and beheaded along with the CEO’s and board members of the companies that belonged to us and were sold off by the Thatcher Government.  It worked in France.’

‘I am not advocating violence against innocent politicians, just the corrupt ones.  They’re quite easy to tell apart, if they have ‘MP’ after their name they’re probably criminals but do check before killing them.  Another simple test is to ask a question with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.  If they answer something other than ‘yes’ or ‘no’ they’re probably liars.  If in doubt just mutilate them a bit to be on the safe side……’

DISCLAIMER:  THE DRIPPING TAP DOES NOT ADVOCATE THE USE OF VIOLENCE AND ONLY USES IT FOR COMIC EFFECT.  PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T KILL ANYONE UNLESS THEY THREATEN YOU OR BUILD ILLEGAL SETTLEMENTS IN OCCUPIED TERRITORY CONTRARY TO INTERNATIONAL LAW AND UN RESOLUTION 242……
